Status Saver is an Android app feature
Unlike the Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and X downloaders on this website, WhatsApp Status saving is not available through the online link-paste tool. WhatsApp does not expose Status content through public web links the way social platforms expose public posts, so this capability lives inside the Video Downloader Plus Android app, where it can read Status media that WhatsApp has already downloaded to your device for viewing.
How Status Saver works
- Install the app. Get Video Downloader Plus from Google Play if you haven't already.
- View the Status first. Open the Status update inside WhatsApp so your device has it available.
- Open Status Saver. Switch to the Status Saver section of the app.
- Save it. Select the Status you viewed and save it to your device.
Limitations and responsible use
- Only Statuses that are still active and have already been viewed in WhatsApp can be saved — expired Statuses cannot.
- Some Android versions require a storage permission for Status Saver to read WhatsApp's media folder.
