Why is my video link not working?
This is the most common issue, and it almost always comes down to one of four causes: the URL was copied incompletely, the post is private, the video has been deleted, or the link comes from a platform Video Downloader Plus doesn't support. Start by opening the link in a private/incognito browser tab — if it doesn't load there without logging in, Video Downloader Plus won't be able to fetch it either, since the tool only works with links that are already public.
If the link does open publicly, go back to the original post and use its native Share → Copy link option rather than copying the address bar URL, since some platforms shorten or tokenize address-bar links in ways that break outside the app.
Why can't I download a private video?
Video Downloader Plus never logs into Facebook, Instagram, TikTok or X on your behalf. It can only read what a link already makes available to the public internet. That means private accounts, friends-only posts, close-friends Stories, group-only videos and anything behind a login wall are not supported — not as a bug, but by design, since bypassing a login wall would mean accessing content the owner explicitly restricted.
If you need to save your own private content, use the platform's own built-in save/download option where available, or export your data through the platform's official tools.
How do I save videos for offline viewing?
Once Video Downloader Plus finishes processing a supported public link and you choose a quality, the file downloads to your device the same way any browser or app download does. On the website that means your browser's normal Downloads folder; in the Android app it means the app's own download manager plus your device's shared media storage. After that, the file plays back with no internet connection required — it's a standalone file on your device, not a stream.
MP4 vs MP3 — which format should I choose?
Choose MP4 when you want the full video — picture and sound together — for example to rewatch a clip, share it, or use it in an edit. Choose MP3 when you only care about the audio, such as pulling the soundtrack, a podcast-style segment, or a voice note out of a video with the video-to-MP3 tool. MP3 files are audio-only and typically much smaller than the source video, which is useful if you just want to listen rather than watch.
720p vs 1080p vs 4K — which quality should I pick?
Video Downloader Plus can only offer the qualities that the original source video was actually uploaded in — see the HD video downloader guide for more detail. As a rule of thumb: pick the highest available quality (1080p or above) when you plan to watch on a larger screen or re-edit the footage, and pick a lower quality like 720p when you want a smaller file that's quicker to save and share, or when your device or connection makes larger files impractical.
Where are downloaded videos stored on Android?
The Android app keeps a record of everything you've saved inside its own in-app download manager, so you can find and replay files without leaving the app. Depending on your Android version and the storage permission you granted, files are also written to your device's shared media storage, which is why they can show up in your phone's gallery or file manager app as well.
How do I pause and resume a download?
From the in-app download manager, an active download can be paused and resumed from the same screen. Keep the app installed and avoid clearing its storage or deleting the partially downloaded file while paused, since that removes the progress the app was tracking and the download would need to start again.
Can I download videos without creating an account?
Yes. The online downloader at videodownloaderplus.online does not ask for sign-up, sign-in or any personal account to paste a link and save a supported public video.
