How to download an Instagram Reel
- Open the public Reel. Find the Reel you want to save.
- Copy the link. Tap Share, then Copy link.
- Paste it in. Open Video Downloader Plus and paste the complete URL into the link field.
- Pick a quality. Select Download and choose one of the available options.
Turning a video into a Reels-ready clip
Beyond saving existing public Reels, Video Downloader Plus also includes a Convert to Reel tool that takes a video you already have and reformats it into a vertical, Reels-ready export — useful if you want to repost your own footage in a Reels-friendly shape. This is a separate step from downloading someone else's public Reel, and works from the result screen after a video has been processed.
What isn't supported
- Reels from private accounts.
- Reels that have been deleted or set to archived by the creator.
- Close Friends or other login-gated content.
If a link fails, confirm it opens in a private/incognito browser tab without signing in — see the link troubleshooting guide.
