How to download a Facebook video
- Open the public post. Find the Facebook video, Watch post or Page video you want.
- Copy the link. Tap the Share icon, then choose Copy link (on mobile) or copy the address bar URL (on desktop, from a public post).
- Paste it in. Open Video Downloader Plus and paste the complete URL into the link field.
- Pick a quality. Select Download, then choose one of the qualities Facebook made available for that video.
What kinds of Facebook videos are supported
Video Downloader Plus works with public Facebook video posts, Facebook Watch videos, and videos posted to public Pages, including short fb.watch share links. What matters is that the post itself is visible to anyone, without logging in — not which surface on Facebook it was posted from.
What isn't supported
- Videos in closed or secret Groups, or posted by private profiles.
- Friends-only posts that require a Facebook login to view.
- Live videos while they are still streaming — only the published replay can be processed.
- Videos that have been deleted or made private since being shared.
If a link fails, confirm it opens in a private/incognito browser tab without signing in — see the link troubleshooting guide.
Frequently asked questions
Can I download a video from a Facebook Group?
Only if the group and the specific post are public. Closed or private group content requires a login and isn't supported.
Does the fb.watch short link work?
Yes, as long as it points to a public video. Paste it exactly as copied from Share.
Can I download a Facebook Live video?
Only once the broadcast has ended and the replay is published as a normal public video post.
Why does my Facebook link fail?
Usually a private profile, a friends-only post, a removed video, or a link that wasn't copied in full. See Troubleshooting & Help.
Ready to download a Facebook video?
Paste a supported public video URL into the downloader or get the Android app.
