Quick answer
Open the public Dailymotion video, copy its link, paste it into the box above, then choose an available quality and download.
How to download a Dailymotion video
- Open the video. Find the public Dailymotion video you want.
- Copy the link. Tap Share, then Copy link — or copy the address bar URL on desktop.
- Paste it in. Paste the complete URL into the link box at the top of this page.
- Pick a quality. Choose one of the available options and select Download.
Supported Dailymotion links
Full links (dailymotion.com/video/…) and short dai.ly/… links both work for public videos. Some Dailymotion videos are only offered as a stream; when that is the only option, it opens in a new tab instead of saving as a file.
Why use Video Downloader Plus for Dailymotion
Free, no sign-up
No account, no extension and no software to install — paste a link and download.
Every available quality
All the resolutions Dailymotion offers for the video are listed, plus MP3 audio when it is available.
Phone, tablet and PC
Works in any modern browser. Android users can also get the app.
Private by design
We only read the public link you paste. Your Dailymotion account is never involved.
What isn't supported
- Private or password-protected videos.
- Videos geo-blocked or restricted by the publisher.
- Live streams in progress.
If a link fails, confirm it opens in a private/incognito browser tab without signing in — see the link troubleshooting guide.
Frequently asked questions
Does the dai.ly short link work?
Yes, as long as it points to a public video.
Why does my download open in a new tab?
When Dailymotion only offers a stream (.m3u8) for a video, it can't be saved as a single file, so it opens as-is.
Why did my Dailymotion link fail?
Usually a private, geo-blocked or removed video. See Troubleshooting & Help.
