X / Twitter Video Downloader

Save public videos and GIFs from X (formerly Twitter) posts in the quality the source provides.

By using our service you accept our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. We are not affiliated with X (Twitter).

Quick answer

Open the public X post, tap Share → Copy link, paste it into the box above, then choose an available quality and download.

How to download a X (Twitter) video

  1. Open the public post. Find the X post with the video or GIF you want.
  2. Copy the link. Tap the Share icon on the post, then Copy link.
  3. Paste it in. Paste the complete URL into the link box at the top of this page.
  4. Pick a quality. Choose one of the available options and select Download.

What kinds of X content are supported

Both current link formats — x.com/... and the older twitter.com/... — are accepted for public posts containing a video or GIF. GIFs shared on X are technically short looping videos, so they can be saved the same way as a regular video post.

Why use Video Downloader Plus for X (Twitter)

Free, no sign-up

No account, no extension and no software to install — paste a link and download.

Every available quality

All the resolutions X (Twitter) offers for the video are listed, plus MP3 audio when it is available.

Phone, tablet and PC

Works in any modern browser. Android users can also get the app.

Private by design

We only read the public link you paste. Your X (Twitter) account is never involved.

What isn't supported

  • Posts from protected (private) X accounts.
  • Posts that require a login to view, such as some age-restricted media.
  • Posts that have been deleted since being shared.

If a link fails, confirm it opens in a private/incognito browser tab without signing in — see the link troubleshooting guide.

Frequently asked questions

Do both x.com and twitter.com links work?

Yes, both domain formats are accepted for public posts.

Can I download a video from a protected X account?

No. Protected accounts require a login and follower approval, so their posts aren't supported.

Can I download a GIF posted on X?

Yes, if the post is public — X serves GIFs as short looping videos, so they download as MP4.

Why did my X link fail?

Usually a protected account, a deleted post, or a link that wasn't copied in full. See Troubleshooting & Help.
