How to download a video from another site
- Open the video page. Open the public page that plays the video you want.
- Copy the link. Use the site's Share → Copy link option, or copy the URL from the address bar.
- Paste it in. Paste the complete URL into the link box at the top of this page — the site is detected for you.
- Pick a quality. Choose one of the available options and select Download.
How automatic site detection works
Every link goes to the same universal downloader, which recognises the site, finds the public video on the page and lists the formats it offers. That is why a single box works for so many sites, and why the link boxes on the platform pages accept links from other sites too.
Tips when a site isn't listed
If your site isn't one of the platforms above, just try the link — many sites that embed a standard video player work. Use the link of the page that plays the video (not the site's home page), and make sure the video plays without signing in. Some sites only offer a stream; in that case the download opens in a new tab instead of saving as a file.
Why use Video Downloader Plus
Free, no sign-up
No account, no extension and no software to install — paste a link and download.
Every available quality
All the resolutions the site offers for the video are listed, plus MP3 audio when it is available.
Phone, tablet and PC
Works in any modern browser on Android, iPhone, Windows and Mac. Android users can also get the app.
Private by design
We only read the public link you paste. Your own account is never involved.
What isn't supported
- Videos behind a login, paywall or subscription.
- DRM-protected streaming services (such as Netflix, Prime Video or Disney+).
- Live streams that are still in progress.
- Private, removed or region-blocked videos.
If a link fails, confirm it opens in a private/incognito browser tab without signing in — see the link troubleshooting guide.
Frequently asked questions
Which sites are supported?
Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, X, YouTube, Pinterest, Dailymotion and CapCut have dedicated guides, and many other sites with public video links work in the same box. The fastest way to check a site is to paste a link.
Do I need to choose the site first?
No. The site is detected from the link automatically.
Can I download from Netflix or other paid streaming services?
No. DRM-protected and subscription content is not supported.
Why did my link fail?
Usually the video needs a login, is private or region-blocked, or the link points to a page without a playable video. See Troubleshooting & Help.
Use downloads responsibly
Only download videos you own, that are licensed for reuse, or that you have the creator's permission to save. Video Downloader Plus doesn't host any videos and isn't affiliated with any of the sites listed. Read the Terms of Use.
